Chances R at College Square is a great spot for a casual meal. They have a wide variety of options, including meat, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. All I can say is wow! You walk into a very unassuming restaurant and there is a pleasant greeting right on entry. Our server was very attentive and never missed an opportunity for a coffee refill. He was very also very pleasant. The food was excellent. Some of the best tasting spring rolls I've had and the sauces were the perfect compliment. This experience was lovely from entering all the way to the "Thank you for coming" when leaving.
I have been coming here since I was a young child with my family, now with my fiance. Always amazing staff, delicious food especially the breakfast and good atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Always consistent and reliable. Good portion sizes for the prices. Not many places left you can say your grandparents went to in the 70s before you were born that you're now enjoying with your family and friends. Used to hit this place when I went to Algonquin College in the early 2000s for cheap pitchers...now I'm going with my elderly mother for brunch etc. a true Beaut.
An historic institution in West Ottawa. You can count on great food and good service. Tonight was a dinner in honour of my father who passed away a few days ago and whose favorite restaurant was Chances R. He must have been a customer for 40 or more years. And completely unrelated to this...they gave us a free prosecco on arrival!
We come here for brunch, and you can taste that the chef cares about the food here. Nothing is ever burnt. Everything is done well and is tasty.
My boyfriend took me here for dinner on our way home from the Originals Craft Show, specifically for their Big Julie salad as he loves it, and I love salad. The restaurant was fully booked with a table set for 20 but we got a cozy table for 2. The server, a lovely young lady who told us she'd been there 8 years was very friendly and efficient. Our food and beverages were delivered quickly. It was delicious and very filling. I'd go back again.
